Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA)

Haryana Urban Development Authority, also known as HUDA is the urban planning agency of the state of Haryana in India. It was established in 1977. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Chief Minister of Haryana is the Chairman of the authority. The headquarters of the authority are located in Panchkula, Haryana.

Urban Estates Department was established in 1962 for planned development of cities in Haryana. Due to lack of co-ordination between Urban Estates Department and other departments of the Government of Haryana, the growth of estates started slowing down. Therefore, in 1977, Haryana Urban Development Authority was established under Haryana Urban Development Authority Act, 1977 and all the individual departments involved into planning were merged into it.
